How to upload WordPress plugin zip files using a Mac and Safari browser

All zip files are unzipped when you download them using a Mac and Safari browser. This is the default option. Unfortunately, this option creates a challenge for the installation of WordPress plugins because WordPress requires a zip file.

There are two options to avoid this issue:

1. You can enable or disable this feature temporarily or permanently.
2. You can use another browser such as Firefox or Chrome.

If you prefer option #1, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to Safari > Preferences while in the Safari menu.
2. Scroll down the bottom of the General tab and uncheck the checkbox Open "safe" files for downloading.
3. Go to your My Account page and download the plugin zip file again.
4. Verify that the plugin file is downloaded as a zip file.
5. Upload the plugin zip file to your WordPress site.
