How to update YouTube video stats on demand and schedule

If you imported your videos directly from YouTube API, YouTube ShowCase Pro WordPress plugin allows you to update the stats of your videos on a scheduled or on-demand basis.

The following stats can be updated:

• Published At:

  Displays the date that the video was published at when checked.

• Duration

  Displays video duration stat when checked.

• Like Count

  Displays video like count stat when checked.

• Favorite Count

  Displays video_favorite_count when checked.

• Comment Count

  Displays video comment count when checked.

• View Count

  Displays video view count when checked.

How to setup YouTube API so that the stats get updated

You must have a YouTube API Key set and saved to be able to use this feature.

1. Login to your WordPress Dashboard as an administrator.
2. Click on Video Settings menu page.
3. Click on YouTube API menu item.
4. Check you have a valid YouTube API key.
5. Scroll down to YouTube Video Stats section.
6. Select "How often do you want to check stats?". Make sure your wp-cron or operating system job sceduler working.
7. Click Save button to save your settings.
8. Click on "Update stats now" button.
9. Check the Status metric under Stats field. It will show you the number videos updated. If the number is greater than 0, it is working.
10. Check "Next scheduled check" field to see the date next update.
